Add your WordPress site to WP Assist
After creating your WP Assist account, the next step is to connect your WordPress website. Each site you add gets its own unique API key, which is used to authenticate the connection between WP Assist and your WordPress installation. You can add up to three WordPress sites on the Pro plan.
How to add a site
- Log in to your WP Assist dashboard at wpassist.app.
- Click Add site (or Add your first site if this is your first).
- Enter a site name (this is just for your reference, e.g. "Main website" or "Client site").
- Enter your WordPress site URL — include the full address, e.g.
https://yoursite.com. - Click Save. WP Assist will generate a unique API key for this site.
- Copy the API key — you'll need it when installing the WordPress plugin on your site.
Important: Make sure the URL you enter matches your WordPress site's actual address exactly, including https://. A mismatch will cause the connection to fail.
Multiple WordPress sites
If you manage more than one WordPress website, you can add each one separately from the dashboard. Each site gets its own API key and its own chat history. WP Assist Pro supports up to three connected WordPress sites.
