Working with WordPress page content
In WordPress, "Pages" are your static content — things like your homepage, about page, services, contact, and any other non-blog content. WP Assist can read and update any of these pages through the AI chat, making it easy to keep your WordPress website content current without logging into the admin.
Reading page content
Before making changes, you can ask WP Assist to tell you what's currently on a page:
- "What does my homepage currently say?"
- "Summarise the content on my about page."
- "What services are listed on my services page?"
WP Assist will retrieve and summarise the current page content, giving you a clear picture before you make any changes.
Updating page content
Once you know what's on the page, or if you already know what you want to change, just ask:
- "Update the tagline on my homepage to 'Bristol's most trusted web design agency'."
- "Rewrite the intro paragraph on my about page to be more personal and engaging."
- "Add 'Free parking available' to the list of amenities on my contact page."
- "The opening hours on my contact page are wrong — change them to Monday–Friday 9am–6pm."
Page builders: WP Assist edits the underlying text content of your WordPress pages. If you use Elementor, Divi, or another page builder, the text will be updated correctly. However, layout-only changes (moving sections, changing colours) need to be done within the page builder itself.
ACF fields
If your WordPress theme or plugin uses Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for page content — for example, a dedicated "Intro text" field or a "Tagline" field — WP Assist can read and update those too. Just describe what you want to change in plain English and WP Assist will find the right field.
