Creating a new WordPress blog post with WP Assist

WP Assist can write a complete, structured WordPress blog post from a single prompt — and save it directly to your WordPress site as a draft, ready for you to review. You don't need to log in to WordPress admin or use any other tools. Just describe what you want and WP Assist handles the rest.

Step by step

  1. Open the WP Assist chat for your WordPress site from your dashboard.
  2. Describe the blog post you want. Include the topic, target keyword, tone, and approximate length if you have preferences. For example: "Write a 700-word blog post about the benefits of hiring a local solicitor, targeting the keyword 'solicitor near me'. Friendly tone."
  3. WP Assist drafts the post — with an SEO-friendly title, introduction, body with H2 subheadings, and a conclusion.
  4. Review it in the chat. Ask for changes if needed: "Make the intro shorter" or "Add a section about costs".
  5. The post is saved to WordPress as a draft. Log in to WordPress admin to review it visually, or ask WP Assist to publish it: "Publish the post."

Good to know: New posts are always saved as WordPress drafts by default. This gives you a chance to review the content before it goes live on your site. You can ask WP Assist to publish immediately if you prefer.

Tips for better results

  • Specify your target keyword so WP Assist can optimise the post for search.
  • Mention your audience — "write for small business owners" shapes the tone.
  • Ask for specific sections: "Include a FAQ at the end" or "Add bullet points for the key benefits".
  • Include any must-have information: "Mention that we offer free consultations".
