Checking SEO on a WordPress page
WP Assist can check the SEO of any page on your WordPress site and return a plain-English summary of what's working and what needs attention. If you use Yoast SEO or Rank Math, WP Assist reads your SEO score directly and explains what's driving it up or down.
How to request an SEO check
Open the WP Assist chat for your WordPress site and ask in plain English. For example:
- "Check the SEO on my homepage."
- "What's the SEO score on my services page?"
- "Can you do an SEO check on my about page?"
- "Which of my pages have the worst SEO?"
What the SEO check covers
Depending on your WordPress setup, WP Assist will report on:
- SEO score — from Yoast SEO (red/orange/green) or Rank Math (0–100), if installed
- Focus keyword — whether one is set and whether it appears in key locations
- Meta description — whether it's present and a good length
- Page title — whether the title includes the target keyword
- Content signals — rough content length and structure
No SEO plugin? WP Assist can still review your page — it will check for a meta description and flag obvious issues even without Yoast or Rank Math installed. Installing one of those plugins gives you much richer data.
After the check
Once WP Assist has reported on your page's SEO, you can ask it to fix specific issues in the same conversation. For example: "Write a meta description for this page" or "Update the focus keyword to [keyword]".
